What are some examples of bullying at work?

The examples given here are the examples we have experienced at work. Remember it constitutes bullying when it is unfair, is happening over a period of time and it is causing you harm:

  1. Unfair treatment at work
  2. Never a positive comment on your work
  3. Not given all the information to do your work, therefore setting you up to fail
  4. Constant moving goalposts
  5. Accusations of being mentally disturbed
  6. No credit where credit is due
  7. Your views are ignored
  8. Someone else is taking credit for your work
  9. Sarcasm
  10. Scapegoating
  11. Silent treatment
  12. Belittling remarks
  13. Constant criticism of work often in front of colleagues
  14. Unreasonable or inappropriate monitoring (where a manager is getting feedback from colleagues who are competing for similar roles in future).
  15. Intimidation
  16. Dirty looks or suggestive glances
  17. No support from manager
  18. Disparity of treatment of employees

Tip: Make sure that you can prove that you are the “good person”. Don’t retaliate and don’t gossip.
